Burroughs, Burbank Gear Up for 2023 Seasons

The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ water polo team kicked off the regular season at the Pasadena Polytechnic tournament yesterday. The Bears’ games against La Serna High of Whittier and Polytechnic ended after the Burbank Leader’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.

JBHS concludes pool play with a match against South Pasadena at 10 a.m. today followed by its tournament finale at either noon or 1 p.m. In upcoming events, the Bears will face La Cañada in a nonleague game on Aug. 30, followed by a visit to Crespi High in Encino on Sept. 14.


The Bulldogs will begin the campaign on a six-game road trip starting with a season-opening matchup at Pasadena Polytechnic on Aug. 31 at 3:45 p.m. Burbank will then visit Camarillo on Sept. 7 and Temple City on Sept. 12 for a pair of nonleague contests.
