The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ volleyball team defeated visiting South Pasadena in four games, 32-30, 25-21, 26-28, 25-14, in a nonleague match on April 2.
Caiden Shrode amassed 51 assists and two aces, while Nathan Kameya racked up 24 digs. Henry Carlin finished with 13 kills and two aces, Benji Ly recorded 12 kills, and Gavin Arnold produced 11 kills.
The Bears defeated host Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta in four games, 25-21, 25-17, 21-25, 26-24, in a Pacific League match on March 29 as Shrode racked up 31 assists. Charlie Gerard registered 12 kills, Carlin tallied 11 kills and Kameya collected 11 digs.
Burroughs (10-5 overall, 4-1 in league) will visit Arcadia for a league match on April 9 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Pasadena on April 11.
BURBANK
The Bulldogs were swept at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta, 10-25, 17-25, 19-25, in a Pacific League match on April 3. Individual statistics were not reported to the Leader.
Burbank (3-10, 1-5) will host Glendale for a league match on April 9 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting Pasadena on April 16.
