The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ water polo team lost at Costa Mesa 16-6 in its CIF Southern Section Division III opener on Feb. 6.
The Bears secured a 6-4 victory over Muir High of Pasadena in the third-place game of the Pacific League Tournament on Feb. 1. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
Burroughs finished the campaign third in league with a 7-4 record (11-13 overall).

The Bulldogs lost to Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta 8-2 in the fifth-place game of the Pacific League Tournament on Feb. 1.
Angela Khachikyan recorded 12 saves and two steals, Melanie Hayrapetian finished with three steals and one goal, and Elizabeth Bislamyan scored one goal. Natalie Bislamyan tallied one steal and one assist, Elina Khechumyan was credited with one assist, and Cynthia Goli had one steal.
Burbank finished the campaign sixth in league with a 2-6 record (6-14 overall).
