Bulldogs Victorious in Tournament Finale

The Burbank High School varsity boys’ basketball team recently competed in the San Gabriel Tournament and finished with a 1-3 record after beating San Bernardino 60-50 in its finale on Nov. 25.

The Bulldogs suffered tournament losses against Fontana, 59-42, Gabrielino High of San Gabriel, 62-50, and Buckley High of Sherman Oaks, 75-68. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.

Burbank (2-6 overall) will open Pacific League action at Muir High in Pasadena on Dec. 5 at 5:15 p.m. before visiting Glendale on Dec. 8.

BURROUGHS

The Bears suffered their first loss of the campaign after falling to visiting Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City 88-47 in a nonleague game on Nov. 29.

Burroughs edged Providence High of Burbank 60-59 in its Rose City Classic opener on Nov. 28 after beating host Dorsey High in Los Angeles, 69-47, in a nonleague game on Nov. 21. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.

Following the conclusion of the Rose City Classic on Dec. 2, Burroughs (6-1) will open Pacific League action by hosting Glendale on Dec. 5 at 5:15 p.m. before hosting Arcadia on Dec. 8.
