Schiff Names Isabel Omero Woman of the Year

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) honored Isabel Omero, a dedicated community organizer and longtime Burbank local. She was one of the 16 inspiring women from communities in the 30th Congressional District, in an annual Woman of the Year celebration at a luncheon this week in Los Angeles.

“It was great to meet with extraordinary women from my district who have worked tirelessly to make our communities a better place,” Schiff said. “It was an honor to recognize their invaluable work in the 30th District, and a pleasure to thank them for their outstanding service to the community.”

Omero, Burbank’s honoree, is a proud transgender woman who has called Burbank home for more than four decades.

With a distinguished career in television and a deep commitment to nonprofit work, she actively supports LGBTQ+ causes. Omero’s efforts have led to the successful organization of Burbank’s first-ever LGBTQ+ celebration, “Family Pride in the Park.”
