Changes Need to Be Made

At the Tuesday, Sept. 12 [City Council meeting], I called in to voice my displeasure for Mayor (sorry not deserving of this title) Konstantine Anthony. Twice now the city has had the recognition of first “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In” that somewhat put us on the map and sadly now the actions of our mayor has brought embarrassment to our city.

A video of him has surfaced across the country and even made Fox News and Hannity. It depicts the mayor being spanked by a transgender male/female at a Democratic fundraiser to the shock of many of us and his reply was “Jealous.” His personal life is his, but the rippling affect it has brought to our city is shameful. I personally think he should be removed from both Council and his mayorship and thank Councilwoman Zizette Mullins for asking this to come back for further discussion.

Of course, there would have to be a recall election down the road as he still has about 14 months left in his term and then plans on running for county supervisor. The mayorship is an appointed ceremonial position on the Council and is the spokesman for the city. Changes needs to be made.
