Nikki Perez Garners City Council Endorsements

First published in the Sept. 24 print issue of the Burbank Leader.

Nikki Perez, a trained social worker and nonprofit program manager running for Burbank City Council, has earned the endorsements of U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman and Mayor Jess Talamantes. They join the growing list of community leaders backing Perez’s campaign, including a majority of the City Council and School Board.
Sherman is backing Perez because of her long service to the Burbank community and her tireless work on behalf of Valley students facing housing insecurity and her innovative ideas on how to help them.
Mayor Jess Talamantes, who has decided not to run for reelection, has endorsed Perez’s campaign, citing her passion and understanding of our city as a lifelong resident and civil servant. He cites her as a kind, thoughtful and bridge-building leader who will always put Burbank first.
Perez’s supporters also include the Burbank Firefighters Local 778; Los Angeles County Democratic Party; the League of Conservation Voters; former Councilman Timothy Murphy; Assemblymembers Laura Friedman, Jesse Gabriel, Wendy Carrillo and Luz Rivas; the Burbank Democratic Club; and the Burbank Teachers Association.
