Boys’ Tennis: Woods Goes Unbeaten in League Matchup

The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ tennis team secured a 15-3 victory over visiting Pasadena in a Pacific League match on March 14.

Bears No. 1 singles player Bernard Woods did not drop a game with a trio of 6-0 victories. No. 2 Zachary Friedman also swept with scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-3, while No. 3 Paul Vu added a 6-1 victory. The No. 1 doubles team of Jaden Chapman swept with scores of 6-1, 6-2 and 6-4. The No. 2 tandem of Aditya Kiran and Bevan Maxwell swept with scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-4. The No. 3 duo of Ari Pathak and Miles Howell won a pair of sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-1.

The Bears (5-4 overall, 4-2 in league) will host Arcadia for a league match on March 26 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting Hoover High in Glendale on March 28.

BURBANK

The Bulldogs lost at Arcadia 13-5 in a Pacific League match on March 14. Individual statistics were not reported to the Leader.
