Boys’ Volleyball: Burroughs Sweeps Burbank in League Opener

The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ volleyball team was swept by visiting Arcadia, 23-25, 24-26, 22-25, in a Pacific League match on March 12.

Benji Ly registered 10 kills and three aces, while Gavin Arnold finished with eight kills and two blocks. Henry Carlin racked up 26 assists, while Nathan Kameya contributed 18 digs.

The Bears swept host Burbank, 25-11, 25-22, 25-16, in their league opener on March 7. Ly had tallied 13 kills, while Ryder Tafoya recorded eight kills.

Burroughs (6-5 overall, 1-1 in league) will visit Glendale for a league match on March 27 at 3:45 p.m. before traveling to Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta on March 29.

BURBANK

The Bulldogs lost in four games at Glendale, 14-25, 25-22, 9-25, 19-25, in a Pacific League match on March 12. Burbank was swept by visiting Burroughs High of Burbank, 11-25, 22-25, 16-25, in its league opener on March 7. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.

The Bulldogs (1-7, 0-2) will visit Maranatha High in Pasadena for a league match on March 26 at 4 p.m.
