Burbank Police Department Crime Log

A man was arrested and detained after investigators identified him as one of many suspects responsible for an organized theft at the Empire Center at 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 8. The man was found to be in possession of narcotics, and he allegedly admitted to being in the getaway vehicle that had left him behind after the theft. He was cited and released for narcotics possession. Officers later located the vehicle and contacted the occupants, who were all later arrested for possession of narcotics for sale.

Police were called to the 2200 block of North Buena Vista Street regarding a public disturbance after a man allegedly confronted hotel employees about money he said was missing from his room at 12:14 p.m. on Feb. 10. According to reports, he told employees that he had a gun, left the main lobby and later returned with his hand inside of his backpack. One victim said she was in fear for her safety. The man was arrested for making illegal threats. When police searched his vehicle, officers found an unloaded firearm.

A witness contacted police regarding two men arguing for about 30 minutes in the 200 block of West Verdugo Avenue at 2:20 p.m. on Feb. 12. During the investigation, police located one of the men with various injuries. The second man was identified as the man’s brother, who was later booked at the BPD jail for battery, causing serious injury. His bail was set at $50,000.
