Laughlin Records Hat Trick in Burroughs Win

The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ soccer team rolled past visiting Pasadena 6-2 in a Pacific League match on Dec. 12, as junior Quiana Laughlin scored a hat trick with a pair of assists.

Sophomore Samantha Sizemore registered one goal and one assist, seniors Jailyn Turner and Graciela Gomez each tallied one goal, and senior Mackenzie Monahan and freshman Geneva Kiefer were each credited with one assist.

The Bears suffered a 3-1 league loss at Arcadia on Dec. 3. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.

Burroughs (2-3 overall 2-1 in league) will host Hoover High of Glendale for a league match on Dec. 21 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Muir High of Pasadena on Jan. 4.

The Bulldogs lost to visiting Arcadia 10-0 in a Pacific League match on Dec. 12.

Burbank blanked visiting Glendale 3-0 in a league matchup on Dec. 8.

Senior Sophie Peek recorded one goal and one assist, sophomore Emily Taghon and freshman Jocelyn Morinaga each scored one goal, and freshman Sophia Leon was credited with an assist.

The Bulldogs (3-1-1, 2-1) will host Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta for a league matchup on Dec. 21 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting Hoover High in Glendale on Jan. 4.
