Keeping Burbank Rosey for Veterans Day

More than 20 Burbank community members came out to care for the roses in the Memorial Rose Garden at McCambridge Park on Oct. 28, an effort organized by community member Chris Welker.

The event was attended by Burbank residents, members of the Burbank Veterans Committee, South Hill’s Church and Girl Scout Troop 36. The group beautified the park’s large assemblage of roses, weeding and trimming where needed, and enjoyed pastries and beverages.

“[The city] was very supportive of this effort. … Roses and weeding take a lot of hard work and there just isn’t enough staff to take care of it all. It was an honor to be able to help beautify the garden to honor our veterans in time for Veterans Day,” Welker said.
