Disney Family Cancer Center Flips on Pink Lights

The Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center will be illuminated in pink light as part of a ceremony to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Speakers include Traci Asher, who has published a poignant book of her cancer journey, built around very compelling photos and actress Trisha Simmons, who will perform an inspirational song characterizing her inner joy, credits the DFCC for introducing her to Eastern medicine.

On Monday, Oct. 2, the pink lights go on at 7 p.m.

During October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the pink lights will glow as a reminder of the impacts of this disease. The cancer center pays tribute to breast cancer survivors, honors those who have lost the fight and reminds women to do their self-exams and get their routine mammograms.

The Disney Family Cancer Center is located at 181 S. Buena Vista St. in Burbank.

First published in the September 30 print issue of the Burbank Leader.
