The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ volleyball team was swept by visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta, 21-25, 9-25, 25-20, 18-25, in a Pacific League showdown on Sept. 5.
Sophomore Sienna Lay finished with 13 kills, while sophomore Savana Lay produced 30 assists. Senior Sadie Lomet tallied eight kills, while sophomore Khloe Pavia registered seven kills.
The Bears recently defeated visiting South Hills High of West Covina in four games, 25-11, 25-23, 24-26, 25-12, as Lomet racked up 11 kills and eight aces.
Senior Tawnie Ohrt collected 10 kills, 10 digs and five aces while Savana Lay amassed 30 assists. Sienna Lay contributed 13 digs and nine kills while freshman Nasiyah Chapman recorded 14 digs.
JBHS was previously swept Glendale High, 25-23, 25-20, 25-18, in a league match at Glendale. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
The Bears (6-6 overall, 1-2 in league) will visit Pasadena for a league match on Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Arcadia on Sept. 14.
The Bulldogs were swept by visiting Glendale, 18-25, 9-25, 16-25, in a Pacific League match on Sept. 5.
Senior Ally Molloy registered five kills and nine digs, junior Arpa Khechadoorian recorded eight assists and five digs, and senior Olivia Romagnino contributed nine digs and one assist. Junior Maddy Edwards finished with four digs and one kill, while senior Addy Ritner tallied four digs and one block. Junior Allie Foenander produced three digs, two aces and one kill, while senior Raquel Fox collected two aces, two kills and two digs. Junior Bee Barona was credited with two digs, while senior Astoria Torres had one block.
Burbank previously lost a league match at Muir High in Pasadena in four games, 12-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-12. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
The Bulldogs (0-11 overall, 0-3 in league) will host Arcadia for a league matchup on Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Hoover High in Glendale on Sept. 14.
