Providence was the first health system in the nation to offer the Galleri blood test as a complement to recommended cancer screenings to advance the science and delivery of cancer care.
Locally, the test is available through the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.
“We believe that blood-based screenings for cancer are going to play a transformative role in the future of cancer screenings, and as part of a commitment to learning, have been heavily involved in clinical research with this new technology,” said Dr. Ora Gordon, regional medical director of the Providence Center for Clinical Genetics and Genomics.
The Disney Family Cancer Center’s Multi-Cancer Early Detection Clinic offers comprehensive risk assessments, genetic testing and a personalized cancer preventive care through the Providence Center for Clinical Genetics and Genomics.
