Bears Beat Glendale; Bulldogs Idle

The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ tennis team defeated host Glendale, 17-1, in a Pacific League match last Friday.
The doubles squads earned a nine-set sweep as the No. 1 team of Kaian Bates and Vivek Bhakta (6-0, 6-0, 6-0) and the No. 3 tandem of Miles Howell and Ari Pathak (6-2, 6-0, 6-0) combined for six wins. The No. 2 duo of Sean Konkle and Bevan Maxwell won a pair of sets, 6-1, 6-0, before alternating with Theodore Pynchon and Kelan Schuler (6-4). No. 1 Bernard Woods (6-1, 7-6, 6-1) and No. 3 Zachary Barry (6-2, 6-0, 6-4) each swept while No. 2 Michael Fraser added a pair of wins, 6-0, 6-1.
The Bears will return to action by hosting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta for a league match on Tuesday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m.

BURBANK

The Bulldogs have been idle since sweeping visiting Pasadena, 18-0, in a Pacific League match on March 28.
Burbank will return to action by hosting Glendale for a league contest on Tuesday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m.
