Lincoln Beer Company Takes Silver at National Festival

First published in the Oct. 15 print issue of the Burbank Leader.

Burbank’s Lincoln Beer Company recently won a silver medal at the 2022 Great American Beer Festival for its red ale, Railsplitter.
The beer — a red ale with a slight sweetness, subtle roast and a nice clean finish, to go with a respectable 5.5% ABV — took the second-place finish in the American amber/red ale category. It finished behind Argument Starter by Wicked Barley Brewing Co. in Jacksonville, Florida, and ahead of Frog King by King’s Court Brewing Co. in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Presented by the Brewers Association, Great American Beer Festival is the nation’s largest commercial beer competition.
Railsplitter is among the Burbank brewer’s core beers alongside Subtle Smurk Hazy IPA, Hollywood Way IPA and 1861 Lager. Coming off a Silver Medal last weekend at the San Diego International Beer Festival, this is the second award for their Railsplitter Red Ale and 4th award overall in 2022 following Mosaic Pilsner at World Beer Cup and Cream Ale at the California State Fair.
Lincoln Beer Company is owned by husband-and-wife duo Patrick and Laura Dunn and opened in 2016.
