Burbank Police Department Crime Log

Police arrested a man at an undisclosed location on Oct. 11 at about 12:30 a.m. after learning that he struck a woman various times, causing corporal injuries. The male was located at a nearby family member’s home and arrested for domestic violence.

A man was almost struck by a U-Haul pickup truck in the alley near Burbank Boulevard and Whitsett Avenue at 8:10 a.m. on Oct. 12. During a verbal confrontation with the driver, the driver removed a black handgun from his backpack and pointed it at the victim. The victim took a picture of the vehicle as it fled. The man was located and arrested for assault with a firearm.

A man was heavily intoxicated in the front of Best Buy on 1501 North Victory Place and unable to care for himself. The man was arrested for public intoxication and outstanding warrants at 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 13 and was placed on $250 bail.

Officers were dispatched regarding a male holding a gun inside of a bus. A traffic stop of the bus was conducted near Lankershim Boulevard and Huston Street at about 11:25 a.m. on Oct. 14, but no firearm was located. A records check of the male revealed an outstanding warrant. He was also found to be in possession of narcotics and was arrested for the warrant and drug possession. He was placed on $1,000 bail.

Officers initiated contact with subjects sitting in their vehicle at Home Depot at 1200 South Flower Street at 5 p.m. on Oct. 15. They were subsequently arrested on seven charges related to identity theft and narcotics and were placed on $50,000 bail.

Fry’s Electronics loss prevention employees attempted to contact a male suspect of petty theft at 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 16. The man refused to stop and began running way. Officers arrived on scene and detained suspect. The loss prevention employee was desirous of prosecution, the man was arrested, and the stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to Fry’s.

A man was allegedly loitering and harassing customers at the front entrance of Ralph’s at 1100 North San Fernando Boulevard at 12:35 a.m. on Oct. 17. Officers determined that he was under the influence of an unknown alcoholic beverage and unable to care for himself. The man was arrested for public intoxication.
