Bears, Bulldogs Conclude Seasons in Pool

The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ water polo team lost to visiting Temple City, 14-6, in its CIF-Southern Section Division III opener on Tuesday.
Sophomore Ava Tomlinson registered four goals, senior Nancy Baylor scored a pair of goals and senior Mindy Hernandez made five saves.
The Bears previously lost their Pacific League Finals game against Arcadia, 11-9, as Tomlinson recorded three goals. Hernandez produced eight saves, sophomore Sarah Metry tallied two goals, and junior Anastasia Zubkoff, sophomore Audrey Willett, sophomore Siahni Suarez and Baylor each had one goal.
JBHS (8-1 in league, 14-9 overall) finished the campaign as co-league champions with Arcadia and will look to return to the postseason next year.

BURBANK

The Bulldogs defeated Pasadena, 10-6, in their Pacific League Tournament and regular-season finale last Thursday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
Burbank concluded the campaign seventh in the standings with a 1-8 record (7-14 overall).
