Baseball: Reynoso Fans 12 to Lead Burbank to League Shutout

The Burroughs High School varsity baseball team picked up a 7-3 victory at Pasadena in a Pacific League game on April 9.

Junior Kenny Montgomery pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts, while senior Chris Perez went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, a run and a stolen base. Freshman Elliot Ross recorded a hit, two stolen bases, two runs and two walks, senior Nickolas Fritz produced a hit, two runs and a stolen base, and sophomore Logan Drossin registered a hit, two walks and a stolen base. Senior Nate Chapman finished with two runs, a walk and a stolen base, sophomore Devin Whittekiend was credited with an RBI and a walk, and senior Tommy Vournas walked once and stole a base. Junior Kyle Smith tallied an RBI, while senior Dylan Conahan stole a base.

Burroughs (15-3 overall, 8-1 in league) will host Arcadia for a league game on April 16 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting the Apaches on April 19.

BURBANK

Burbank High Michael Bui finished with a triple and two RBIs to help the Bulldogs beat Hoover High in a Pacific League game Tuesday.

The Bulldogs blanked host Hoover High in Glendale 5-0 in a Pacific League game on April 9.

Captain Miklo Reynoso, who had a hit, a walk and a stolen base at the plate, pitched a complete game shutout with a season-high 12 strikeouts.

Thomas Angel went 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, an RBI and a run, Bryant Johnson went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, and captain Colby Bette went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs and an RBI. Michael Bui finished with a triple and two RBIs, while Ryan Sebastian recorded a triple, an RBI, a run and a stolen base. Captain Robert Snyder also contributed with a walk, a run and a stolen base.

Burbank suffered a 13-0 nonleague loss at Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth on April 6.

Jake Reyes tallied a base hit, while Sebastian walked once. Bette pitched three innings with three strikeouts, while Snyder pitched one inning with two strikeouts.

The Bulldogs (6-10, 5-4) will host Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta for a league game on April 16 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting the Falcons on April 19.
