Track and Field: Lucsik, Laughlin Compete in CIF Finals

Burroughs and Burbank high school athletes participated in the CIF Southern Section Track and Field Championships at Moorpark High School on May 11, competing in the Division I pool of talent.

Burbank’s Ogden Lucsik set a personal record and finished second in the boys’ pole vault with a height of 15 feet, 7 inches.

Meanwhile, Burroughs’ Quiana Laughlin finished seventh in the girls’ long jump with a leap of 17-6 3/4.

Lucsik will return to Moorpark High to compete at the CIF Southern Section Masters Meet on May 18. His finals mark was the third best across all four divisions, qualifying him for the Masters Meet. He will be competing for a spot in the 104th CIF State Track & Field Championships starting May 24.
