Burroughs Boys’ Tennis Falls Short in Opener

The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ tennis team suffered a narrow 10-8 season-opening loss at Crossroads High in Santa Monica on Feb. 13.

Bears No. 1 singles player Bernard Woods swept his opponents with scores of 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4, while No. 3 Aditya Kiran won a pair of sets with scores of 6-3 and 7-6 (10-8). No. 2 singles Zachary Barry (6-2) and the No. 1 doubles team of Bevan Maxwell and Paul Vu (6-1) each won a set.

The Bears (0-1 overall) will visit Pasadena for a Pacific League match on Feb. 20 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Arcadia on Feb. 22.

BURBANK

The Bulldogs will open the regular season hosting Arcadia on Feb. 20 at 3:45 p.m. Burbank will then visit Hoover High in Glendale for a Pacific League match on Feb. 22 before hosting Pasadena on Feb. 27.
