Burbank Motorcyclist Killed in Malibu Crash

By City News Service

A Burbank motorcycle driver was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Pacific Coast Highway on Christmas Eve, according to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office Tuesday.

The victim was identified as 32-year-old Jose Alfonso De Lira Piedra of Burbank, the agency reported.

The collision took place around 6 p.m. on Dec. 24 in the 33400 block of the PCH in Malibu, said Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

De Lira Piedra was headed south at the time of the accident. He died at the scene of the crash, Koerner said.

The collision temporarily shut down a 2-and-a-half mile stretch of PCH just south of Leo Carillo State Beach, the LASD reported.
