The Burbank High School varsity boys’ water polo team narrowly lost to visiting Portola High of Irvine 14-13 in a CIF Southern Section Division II second-round matchup on Nov. 2.
Senior Andranik Bilbulyan recorded four goals, two assists and one steal, while junior Avet Avetisyan contributed three goals and one assist. Junior Daniel Agazaryan registered three steals, two goals and one assist, while junior Gevorg Choginvan produced four assists, two goals and one steal. Senior Rafael Gevorgyan finished with four assists, two steals and one goal, while sophomore Jack Babelyan chipped in one goal, one assist and one steal. Senior Alec Chalkdzhyan tallied seven saves and one steal, senior Hayk Atanasyan had two steals and freshman Avvo Ilangesyan had one steal.
The Bulldogs finished the campaign as Pacific League champions with a 6-2 record (21-11 overall).
