Bulldogs Beat Bears in Rivalry Match, 16-2

The Burbank High School varsity boys’ tennis team defeated visiting Burroughs High, 16-2, in a Pacific League match on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs’ No. 1 doubles team of David Petrosyan and Minjae Kim (6-2, 6-1, 6-0), the No. 2 tandem of Dominic Aleman and Edouard (6-4, 6-3, 6-2), the No. 3 duo of Blake Lewis and Vamsi Chintha (6-3, 6-0, 6-2), and No. 1 singles Adam Ridaoui (6-3, 6-0, 6-0) each swept. No. 2 Amrith Kodumuri (6-0, 6-2) and No. 3 Raphael Lazaryev (7-5, 6-0) each added a pair of wins.
The Bears’ No. 1 singles player Bernard Woods (6-3) and No. 3 player Paul Vu (6-0) each won a set.
JBHS previously crushed visiting Pasadena, 17-1, in a league matchup. The No. 1 team of Kaian Bates and Vivek Bhakta (6-3, 6-1, 6-0), the No. 2 tandem of Bevan Maxwell and Sean Konkle (7-5, 6-1, 6-2), and the No. 3 duo of Miles Howell and Ari Pathak (6-4, 6-2, 6-1) each swept. No. 1 Woods (6-4, 6-0, 6-2) and No. 2 Michael Fraser (6-3, 6-0, 6-0) each swept while No. 3 Vu added a pair of set wins, 6-1, 6-2.
