Boys’ volleyball: Burbank Beats Malibu; Burroughs Competes in Redondo Tournament

The Burbank High School varsity boys’ volleyball team defeated host Malibu, 25-15, 23-25, 29-27, 25-13, in a nonleague match on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs previously suffered a pair of nonleague losses against Calabasas, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22, and Canyon High in Canyon Country, 3-1. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
The Bulldogs (4-3 overall) will host Castaic for a nonleague contest on Monday, March 6, at 3:30 p.m. before opening Pacific League action against visiting Arcadia on March 7.

BURROUGHS


The Bears competed in the Redondo Tournament last weekend and finished with a 1-4 record.
Burroughs High School swept Eagle Rock High of Los Angeles, 25-21, 25-17, in its tournament opener but lost a pair of matches to San Marcos High of Santa Barbara by scores of 2-0 as well as Downey, 25-23, 25-22, and Wiseburn-Da Vinci High of El Segundo, 25-18, 26-24.
The Bears were previously edged by visiting South Pasadena, 25-21, 12-25, 23-25, 25-14, 15-10, in a nonleague match. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
Burroughs (2-6 overall) will host St. Francis High of La Cañada Flintridge for a nonleague match on Thursday, March 9, at 3:45 p.m. before opening Pacific League action at Burbank on March 14.
