The Burbank High School varsity boys’ water polo team collected its fifth straight victory and improved to 13-2 overall after defeating host Buena High in Ventura, 13-8, in a nonleague game on Monday.
Junior Alec Chalkdzhyan collected 10 saves in the cage while senior Arman Hovhanissyan tallied four goals, five steals and four assists. Senior Zack Gezalyan produced three goals, three steals and one assist, sophomore Danny Agazaryan registered three goals and two assists, and sophomore Gevorg Choginyan posted two goals and two assists. Sophomore Eric Avetisyan scored a pair of goals while junior Raffi Gevorgyan had one goal. Junior Andranik Bilbulyan finished with two steals and one assist, while junior Hayk Atanasyan picked up one assist and one steal.
The Bulldogs will open Pacific League action at Glendale on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 3:30 p.m.
The Bears dominated visiting South Pasadena, 14-3, in a nonleague game last Thursday, as Harrison Siegel amassed a game-high seven goals. Ian Duffield tallied five goals, while Logan Turla scored a pair of goals.
JBHS (5-6 overall) will open Pacific League action at Pasadena on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 3:30 p.m.
