The Burroughs High School varsity baseball team won its CIF-SS Division V second-round game at Orange, 7-2, on Tuesday after having previously shut out visiting Village Christian High of Sun Valley, 2-0, in a first-round matchup last Friday. No individual statistics were reported to the Burbank Leader.
The Bears hosted Nogales High of La Puente in a quarterfinal game yesterday; the result was unavailable by the Burbank Leader’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
If victorious, JBHS (19-10 overall record) would advance to a CIF semifinal playoff game and meet either Tustin (19-10 overall) or Temple City (16-9 overall) on Tuesday, May 17.
