Burroughs High Falls to Silverado, 2-0, in Playoffs

The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ soccer team was eliminated from CIF-SS Division 6 playoffs after being shut out by visiting Victorville Silverado, 2-0, in a second-round matchup on Tuesday.
The Bears previously advanced after ending regulation in a scoreless tie at San Pedro Mary Star of the Sea, ultimately winning in penalty kicks, 7-6. Senior goalie Cristian Alfaro blocked the game-winning attempt while senior captain Jaden Vasquez, junior Manny Hooshivar, junior Daniel Proano, junior Hector Fuentes, sophomore Dominic Quijada, freshman Alexander Loera and freshman Danny Pasqual each scored a penalty kick.
Burroughs’ season ended three games into the playoffs after finishing third in the Pacific League with a 5-2 record (7-6-2 overall).
