Vincent Hiland Davis

Date of Death

At the age of 89, Vince passed away peacefully with loved ones at his side. Born in Omaha, Nebraska to the Rev. E. Jason and Maude Davis, he moved to California at the age of 4 with his family to Southern California where he settled in and stayed.

Vince served in the US Army in 1954/55 during the Korean conflict serving as a Heavy Weapons Infantryman and earned a Good Conduct Medal. He lived his life with his loving wife, Grace, by his side whom he met in 1969 and married March 27, 1971. With Grace’s encouragement, Vince pursued a college degree, proudly being the first in the family to achieve his goal and graduating cum laude from CSU Northridge. He devoted his career to teaching in special education where his creativity and empathetic nature were great assets. Vince was an accomplished artist and musician.

He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood and he very much loved the Lord. His relationship with Christ was an integral part of who he was. We take comfort knowing he will be welcomed home. He is predeceased by his parents and his six siblings. Vince is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife, Grace, as well as his very dear neighbors who were his adopted family, Pam and Darryl Wilson, and their daughters Olivia and Emma, friends, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood on May 17, 2023 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood.
