Mario Iacobellis was born August 5, 1935, in Avellino, Italy, to Maria and Giuseppe.
On March 14, 2023, Mario died peacefully at his new home in Somis, California. He is survived by his daughter, Loralei, twin brother, Ugo, brothers, Tony and Erminio, and sisters, Rita and Graziucca.
Mario served as an Italian police officer before immigrating to Burbank, California, in 1965. He became a U.S. citizen, began a successful career as a real estate broker and developer and was a twice elected president of the Burbank Association of Realtors. He served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA, was a California Association of Realtors Director and earned a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. While maintaining a dual citizenship, he enjoyed traveling to Italy often where he built his own vacation home in Tuscany. He enjoyed playing tennis, skiing and going to the gym daily.
Rosary Mass will be held for Mario on Wednesday April 5, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, and Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023.
