Late last week, Burbank Police Department detectives served a search warrant at a residence and recovered seven functioning firearms, two fully automatic assault rifles, five 3D printers which were being utilized to manufacture firearms, numerous 3D printed firearm accessories and several hundred rounds of ammunition.
Detectives also recovered two expended rocket launchers. This investigation was a result of a traffic stop by BPD Patrol officers which led to an arrest and subsequent search warrant, police said.
Ghost gun operations have been on the rise in recent years. Suspects use 3D printers to manufacture illicit, unregistered firearms at home to sell illegally.
