The Burbank High School varsity boys’ soccer team shut out host Arcadia 2-0 in a Pacific League matchup on Dec. 12 as senior goalie Hayk Tovmasyan racked up five saves.
Junior Erik Antanesyan and sophomore Raymond Soukiazian each scored one goal, while senior George Atallah was credited with a pair of assists. Junior Rigo Garcia tallied three shots on goal, while junior Izel Ortega and sophomore Aram Hovanessian each had one shot on goal.
The Bulldogs lost at Glendale 2-1 in a league match on Dec. 8 as Atallah scored one goal.
Soukiazian registered one assist, Tovmasyan finished with five saves, and junior David Agababian, junior Alfost Khalatyan and Garcia each had one shot on goal.
Burbank (5-2-2 overall, 1-1-1 in league) will visit Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta for a league contest on Dec. 21 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Hoover High of Glendale on Jan. 4.
BURROUGHS
The Bears lost at Pasadena 5-2 in a Pacific League match on Dec. 12. Burroughs secured a narrow 2-1 league victory over visiting Arcadia on Dec. 8 as seniors Sebastian Ulloa and Dominic Quijada each scored one goal.
Burroughs (2-3, 1-2) will visit Hoover High in Glendale for a league match on Dec. 21 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting Muir High in Pasadena on Jan. 4.
