Unbeaten Burbank Edges South Pas

The Burbank High School varsity boys’ soccer team remained unbeaten this season with a narrow 2-1 nonleague victory at South Pasadena on Nov. 28.

Senior Allan Rodriguez and junior Erik Antanesyan each scored one goal, sophomore Raymond Soukiazian tallied an assist, and senior goalie Hayk Tovmasyan recorded three saves.

The Bulldogs (3-0-1 overall) will host Taft High of Woodland Hills on Dec. 2 at 1:30 p.m. before opening Pacific League action at Muir High in Pasadena on Dec. 5.


The Bears suffered a 4-3 season-opening loss to visiting West Ranch High of Valencia on Nov. 28. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.

Burroughs will host Schurr High of Montebello for a nonleague match on Dec. 2 at noon before opening Pacific League action against visiting Glendale on Dec. 5 at 3:45 p.m.
