Fire Crews Rescue Trapped Construction Worker

Fire teams rescued a man at a construction site who had fallen and was trapped under debris following an accident Wednesday. The man was recovered and was quickly treated for his wounds. Burbank Fire Department was dispatched to the rescue in the 600 block of East Cedar Avenue on Nov. 29.

The first crews to arrive on scene reported that there was one construction worker trapped under dirt and lumber. Fire officials said that a retaining wall had collapsed during work, trapping the worker underneath the debris. Efforts by fire crews freed the trapped worker, who was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

Assistance was provided by the Glendale Fire Department, the Pasadena Fire Department and the Burbank Police Department. The incident is under investigation.
