Burroughs’ Season Concludes in Playoff Opener

The Burroughs High School varsity football team lost to visiting Agoura 42-18 in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division VII playoffs on Nov. 3.

Senior quarterback Chris Kulikov completed 13 of 24 passes for 226 yards with three touchdowns while also rushing for 57 yards on 14 carries. Senior co-captain Ethan Hubbell recorded four receptions for 172 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Senior co-captain Jake Scozzola made a pair of catches for 13 yards with a touchdown.

Senior co-captain Santiago Sanchez rushed for 68 yards on nine carries, while senior Noah Frenkel rushed for 22 yards on four carries and added a 5-yard catch. Senior co-captain Ryan Hernandez had five receptions for 30 yards, while senior co-captain Alex Valenzuela had a 6-yard catch.

The Bears wrapped up the season with their first Pacific League title since 2015, posting a perfect 5-0 record (9-2 overall).
