Burbank, Burroughs Compete in League Action

The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ water polo team routed host Muir High in Pasadena, 23-8, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday as senior Nancy Baylor amassed 12 goals.
Senior goalie Mindy Hernandez racked up eight saves while sophomore Ava Tomlinson registered three goals. Junior Anastasia Zubkoff, sophomore Audrey Willett and sophomore Olivia Dominguez each scored a pair of goals while sophomores Giselle Janczewski and Diana Garcia each finished with one goal.
The Bears previously won a league game at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta, 10-5. Baylor recorded four goals, Tomlinson posted three goals, and Sarah Metry, Siahni Suarez and Zubkoff each had one goal.
First-place Burroughs (10-6 overall, 4-0 in league) will host eighth-place Burbank in a league game on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 3:30 p.m.

Burbank High School senior Makala Kelley scored one goal in a Pacific League game against Glendale last week.

The Bulldogs lost their sixth straight game after falling at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta, 10-3, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday. Senior Rebecca Zakarian, sophomore Lizzie Bislamyan and sophomore Mari Abadzhyan each had one goal.
Burbank previously dropped a league matchup at Glendale, 7-3, as senior Valentina Angel, senior Makala Kelley and Zakarian each scored once.
The eighth-place Bulldogs (6-11 overall, 0-5 in league) will visit Burroughs for a matchup on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 3:30 p.m.
