State Sen. Anthony Portantino honored Councilman Bob Frutos and Councilwoman Sharon Springer with awards from the state Senate commending their service on the City Council. Tuesday’s meeting was the last time the two will take the dais before the council reorganizes, and new members Tamala Takahashi, Nikki Perez, and current City Clerk Zizette Mullins are sworn in. Mayor Jess Talamantes will serve for one more week before handing off the mayor title to another member of the panel.
