The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ soccer team blanked host Hoover High in Glendale, 4-0, to remain unbeaten in Pacific League action on Tuesday.
Senior captain Nicole Jimenez registered one goal and a pair of assists, junior Graciela Gomez finished with one goal and one assist, and senior captain Julia Narmore and freshman Samantha Sizemore each scored once.

After being shut out in their Best in the West Tournament opener by Palm Desert, 3-0, the Bears bounced back and ended the first weekend with a 2-1 victory over Cabrillo High of Lompoc last Saturday. Sophomore Quiana Laughlin recorded both goals.
JBHS previously won its league opener at Glendale, 3-1. Laughlin produced a pair of goals while Narmore had one goal.
Burroughs (4-1 overall, 2-0 in league) will host Pasadena in a league game on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 3:30 p.m.
BURBANK
The Bulldogs snapped their three-game losing streak and collected their first Pacific League victory after routing host Muir High in Pasadena, 4-0, on Tuesday.
Junior Sophia Peek and sophomore Maneh Nersesyan each scored a pair of goals while senior captain Valeria Rojas and senior Jasmine Zamudio were each credited with an assist. Freshman Sydney Evans-Armendariz tended the goal for 80 minutes to earn a shutout victory.
Burbank previously lost its league opener against visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta, 5-0.
The Bulldogs (2-3 overall, 1-1 in league) will host Hoover High of Glendale in a league matchup on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 3:30 p.m.
