Kardosh Breaks Burroughs’ 3-Point Record

The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ basketball team lost against visiting La Cañada, 63-51, in its tournament championship game last Saturday. Sam Horning finished with 19 points, while Jagger Topp poured in 13 points.
The Bears previously won their third straight game after downing visiting Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences High of Granada Hills, 89-55. Chase Kardosh, who set a school record with 10 3-pointers in a single game, finished with 30 points, two assists and two rebounds. Topp registered a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists, while Horning racked up 11 points, nine assists and five steals.
JBHS opened Pacific League action by hosting Glendale late yesterday; the game ended after the Burbank Leader’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The Bears (5-3 overall) will host Hoover High of Glendale in a league game on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m.

The Bulldogs lost against visiting Shalhevet High of Los Angeles, 69-43, in a nonleague game last Thursday, as sophomore Kevin Debashian scored 16 points, including a team-high four 3-pointers. Senior Sattwik Banerjee registered nine points while senior Ashot Daniellian tallied eight points. Even Baker finished with seven points while junior Omar Payind drained a 3-pointer.
