Burroughs High Crushes North Hollywood in Season Opener

The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ soccer team routed visiting North Hollywood, 7-1, on Wednesday.
Quianna Laughlin registered a hat trick, Gracie Gomez scored a pair of goals, and Sophia Samuelson finished with one goal and one assist. The Bears dominated possession throughout the game, anchored by strong midfield play from captains Julia Narmore and Kelani Roy, while only allowing North Hollywood a single shot on frame.
JBHS (1-0 overall) will open Pacific League action at Glendale on Friday, Dec. 9, at 3:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs lost a nonleague game to visiting St. Genevieve High of Panorama City, 11-3, on Tuesday. Standout sophomore Maneh Nersesyan registered a hat trick, including a pair in the first half.
Burbank (1-1 overall) will visit Monrovia in a nonleague game on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 5:15 p.m.
