Burbank High School’s Sena Hammel won the Pacific League singles competition after defeating the No. 4 seed from Arcadia, 6-0, 7-6, in the title match on Thursday.
Hammel, who was seeded No. 2, cruised through the tournament, defeating teammate and No. 6 Bernadette Hovhanasyan, 6-4, 4-6, 10-3, in the semifinals, the No. 7 from Crescenta Valley High, 8-0, in the second round, and the No. 15 from Hoover, 8-0, in the first round.
Before losing to Hammel in the semifinals, Hovhanasyan defeated No. 3 Crescenta Valley, 8-3, in the second round, and No. 11 Arcadia, 8-5, in the first round. No. 14 Ariana Khougaeva lost her opening-round matchup against No. 3 Crescenta Valley, 8-0.
Meanwhile in doubles action, the No. 4 team of Brianna Khobramasihi and Nairi Zeytounzian lost to No. 1 Arcadia, 6-0, 6-0, in the semifinals. The duo previously defeated No. 5 Crescenta Valley, 8-4, in the second round, and No. 13 Pasadena, 8-0, in the first round. Khobramasihi and Zeytounzian ultimately finished fourth overall after losing a consolation match No. 3 Arcadia, 8-3. The No. 7 tandem of Ellen Petrosyan and Molly Foenander lost to No. 10 Crescenta Valley, 8-2, in the first round. The No. 9 team of Chihiro Kato and Jessica Han lost to No. 8 Glendale, 8-5, in the first round of prelims.
The CIF-SS playoff bracket for team competition will be released on Monday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m.

The Bears sent six individuals to compete in the Pacific League singles and doubles tournaments on Tuesday.
No. 8 Hannah Lewis lost in the second round to the No. 1 from Arcadia, 8-1, after defeating No. 9 Hoover, 8-5, in the first round of prelims on Tuesday. No. 13 Elane Shane was swept in the first round of prelims by No. 4 Arcadia, 8-0.
In doubles action, the No. 12 team of Abigail Stell and Lindsey Mazarei lost to the No. 5 from Crescenta Valley, 8-2, in the first round. The No. 14 tandem of Kaitlyn Glaim and Ava Marye also lost in the first round to No. 3 Arcadia, 8-1.
