The Burroughs High School varsity football team defeated visiting Arcadia, 41-20, in a Pacific-Upper League game last Friday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
The Bears moved into a tie for second with Muir High of Pasadena in the league standings behind undefeated Pasadena.
JBHS (3-1 in league, 7-2 overall) had to win its regular season finale against Burbank on Friday to finish as runners-up in league; the game ended after the Burbank Leader’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the CIF-SS playoff brackets will be released on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m.
