Burbank Mayor Jess Talamantes appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday to honor the eponymous host, whose Burbank-based show is ending after 19 seasons. Talamantes delivered a proclamation declaring May 18 as “Ellen Day” and thanked DeGeneres for her humanitarian efforts, philanthropy and work to raise awareness of animal rights, endangered species and social justice issues.
“Thank all of you for watching,” DeGeneres said in Wednesday’s episode. “Thanks for being a part of my final season. I feel the love in this room, and I give all that love right back to you. Take that and spread it around in the world.”
