The Burroughs High School varsity softball team was ousted from the CIF-SS Division IV playoffs after falling to visiting Temple City, 7-2, in a semifinal game last Saturday.
Junior Rachel Little was perfect at the plate for the Bears, finishing 4-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI, while senior teammate Gigi Garcia went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored.
Senior Kiley Christopher registered a base hit and an RBI, senior Isabella Scozzola, junior Stevie Dabbadie and sophomore Gizelle Rangsiyawong each had a base hit, and senior Arley Pena scored once.
The Bears concluded their season with a 22-10 overall record after finishing third in the Pacific League with an 8-5 mark.

The Bears shut out host Yorba Linda in a CIF quarterfinal game last Thursday. Garcia finished 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, Rangsiyawong went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, and Scozzola tallied a double, an RBI and a run scored. Christopher collected a pair of base hits and an RBI, Little base recorded a base hit and an RBI, and sophomore Mia Ramirez had a base hit and a run scored.
