Mayor Nick Schultz declared May 22 Harvey Milk Day in the city of Burbank. Milk was a U.S. Navy veteran, social activist and first openly gay man to be elected to a prominent political office in the U.S. “This proclamation underscores Harvey’s dedication to fighting for equal rights for all,” said city officials. In attendance for the proclamation were district Superintendent John Paramo, Mike Chapman and Schultz. -- Photo courtesy city of Burbank
