The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ volleyball team picked up a thrilling five-game victory at South Pasadena, 22-25, 28-26, 25-22, 17-25, 15-10, in its CIF Southern Section Division III opener on April 25. Details of the matchup will be included in the next edition of the Leader.
The Bears picked up a four-game Pacific League victory over visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta, 19-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-19, in their regular-season finale on April 18. Individual statistics were not reported to the Leader.
Burroughs (25-10 overall) will host St. Margaret’s High of San Juan Capistrano for a second-round matchup on April 27 at 6 p.m. If victorious, the Bears would advance to the quarterfinals on May 1.
BURBANK
The Bulldogs were swept by visiting Arcadia in their season finale on April 18. Set scores and individual player statistics were not reported to the Leader.
Burbank finished the campaign tied for fourth in the Pacific League with a 3-7 record (5-16 overall).
