Burbank Police Department Crime Log

A man was arrested after allegedly attempting to conceal merchandise from a grocery store in the 1800 block of Empire Avenue, while also eating food from a display shelf at 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 20. Witnesses at the business told police that he had also been advised of trespassing in the past. The man was detained, and the merchandise was returned.

A driver was arrested after she ran a red light and struck a pedestrian near Verdugo Avenue and Sparks Street at 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 23. Officers and first responders arrived at the scene, and the pedestrian was transported to Holy Cross Medical Center with injuries. The driver was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

A man was arrested after an altercation involving firearms occurred in the 9400 block of Commerce Way at 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 23. According to police, one suspect arrived at the scene in a black Corvette and stole the victim’s vehicle, another black Corvette. The suspect then allegedly crashed the victim’s car, before getting into an altercation with the victim where he drew a weapon, later fleeing. The two were seen on video with firearms, one rifle and one handgun, police said. Officers later apprehended the suspect in his own vehicle after he sped away from the scene.
