Burbank Falls to Crescenta Valley in League Matchup

The Burbank High School varsity football team suffered a 34-14 loss at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta in a Pacific League game on Oct. 6.

Junior quarterback Daniel Zacariaz completed 13 passes for 131 yards with a touchdown. Junior Joseph Caballero racked up a game-high 106 rushing yards on 18 carries with a touchdown. Junior Max Kelley contributed with four receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown.

Junior Ezekiel Alvarez had four catches for 35 yards, while senior Sean Garrett made two receptions for 30 yards. Junior Pierre Cifuentes had an 8-yard catch, while junior Aiden Ramirez added a 2-yard catch. Senior Brandon Elizalde carried the ball once for 2 yards while also recording six tackles on defense. Senior Brian Butchko went 2-for-2 in PAT attempts.

Senior Levon Bakmazian accumulated six tackles and secured a sack for a loss of 9 yards, while senior Marcus Ojeil tallied five tackles. Senior Dylan Muriano and senior Abraham Zyada each recorded three tackles, while senior Eduardo Martinez and junior Andrew Guerra each chipped in two tackles. Senior Mike Martinez, senior Arthur Kazanchian, junior Jack Rogerson, junior Justin Arteaga and sophomore Adrian Albarran each produced one tackle.

The Bulldogs (2-5 overall, 0-2 in league) hosted Muir High of Pasadena on Oct. 13; the league game ended after the Burbank Leader’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. Burbank will host Pasadena for a league game on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. before concluding the regular season at rival Burroughs High on Oct. 27.
