Woodbury University recognized the accomplishments of its graduating Class of 2023 on Saturday, May 13, at its Burbank campus.
President Barry Ryan welcomed the graduates, their families and the faculty and staff noting that, “No one gets to this finish line without the support of many who love them and root for their success.”
Mariely “El” Cristal Tavarez, Woodbury’s student speaker, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in filmmaking. Tavarez shared her experience in the film program detailing her journey from the first week in class to her prestigious internships, including one at United Talent Agency.
Commencement speaker Chris Edwards, CEO and co-founder of the Third Floor, gave an inspiring speech about tenacity, passion and visual entertainment, and was presented with an honorary degree.
